We came, we saw, we connected. AMP 2025 in Boston brought together everything we love about this field - cutting-edge molecular science, real-world diagnostic challenges, emerging technologies, and thousands of people working toward the same mission: making precision oncology better, faster, and more accessible. But for our team at Reference Medicine, two things stood out above everything else:
Everything else we brought to AMP - our ctDNA study with Burning Rock Dx, DIY as the added element of our swag, and our specimen education materials - was shaped by those two themes: deepening relationships and creating moments of delight.
There’s a certain kind of conversation that only happens when you’re standing face-to-face with the people you collaborate with all year long. AMP gave us that in abundance. We had the opportunity to spend time with several of our current customers, and each face-to-face reminded us why these relationships matter so much. Some of our favs this AMP were:
Our conversations with Circulogene highlighted the kind of forward-thinking work they’re doing in liquid biopsy, especially around ctDNA profiling, fragment dynamics, and low-allele-fraction detection. High-integrity biospecimens are central to their innovation pipeline, and hearing how Reference Medicine materials unblocked some of their critical validation efforts makes our collaboration feel even more meaningful.
Invivoscribe’s team brought an impressive combination of rigor and warmth to every conversation. We talked about the success of some of their recent feasibility studies, alongside the challenges of maintaining consistency across diverse real-world samples. Their commitment to precision mirrors our own values, and getting to meet some new colleagues at AMP was a highlight for us.
We always love our conversations SOPHiA GENETICS. Their team’s energy, curiosity, and drive are contagious, and meeting more of the people driving their innovation deepened our alignment in all the best ways. It reinforced how essential it is to connect across the full ecosystem - from sample sourcing to clinically validated, real-world testing.
These in-person moments - greeting someone you’ve emailed for months, learning what motivates their work, hearing about challenges and opportunities in their pipeline - are what make AMP such a valuable touchpoint each year.
While connection comes first, we can’t pretend the swag wasn’t a major character in our AMP story. It always is. Not because it’s “stuff,” but because it’s one of the most reliable ways to spark joy in a field that is often incredibly intense.
This year, our booth became a steady source of smiles and laughter. Everywhere we turned, people were chuckling at stickers, trying on beanies, or crafting their own custom beanie at our impromptu “make-your-own-swag” setup. Each of those interactions led to something more - a conversation about a current project, a story from someone’s lab, or a new connection based on shared humor and a shared mission.
Swag, for us, isn’t about giveaways. It’s about creating moments of human connectivity and levity inside a scientific meeting where the stakes are high and the days are long. It turns strangers into collaborators, and collaborators into friends. When someone tells us that a sticker made them laugh out loud, or that their team back home fights over who gets the Ref Med beanie, it’s a reminder that even small touches can build real connection.
To everyone who visited Booth 212, thank you for the conversations, the questions, the stories, and the laughter. You reminded us once again that behind every sample, every assay, and every data point is a human being doing their best work.
To Circulogene, Invivoscribe, and SOPHiA GENETICS - thank you for giving us the time and space to connect in person, for introducing us to your colleagues, and for trusting Reference Medicine to support your important work. These conversations were not just highlights of our week; they will shape what we build next.
We left Boston feeling grateful, energized, and inspired. And yes - we are already dreaming up ideas for AMP 2026, including new specimen sets, new data, and absolutely new swag.
Here’s to another year of meaningful science, strong relationships, and a shared commitment to advancing oncology diagnostics with rigor, transparency, and joy.
Boston, thank you.
Until next time.
